We explained to the children the importance of VE day, to celebrate 80 Years we made some British Flags.

Around the World at Paces!🌍

To finish off Multicultural Week, we went to different classes visiting Egypt, Italy and Germany, where we had fun doing activities and tasting different food.

999! What’s your emergency? πŸš’

We certainly enjoyed our trip to Crucial Crew, where we learnt about fire and road safety. We acted out our emergency response by calling 999. We also got to experience how we access public transport which was lots of fun.

Olympians in the Making! πŸ…

Our new topic is called “Spirit,” which is all about the Olympic Games. We looked at the modern Olympics and took part in some of the events. It was lots of fun!

Conductive Egg-ucation! 🐣

Each class designed their own Easter display. We made ours about our school and classroom. “Egginburgh” Class took part in some “Conductive Egg-ucation” task series.Β  We put Lizzie and Ruth in the “Egg Teacher’s ” office.

Edinburgh Class can hardly believe we’ve reached our final term of the school year already! It’s flown by, but we’re all very excited about our new topic, β€œSpirit”.

We will be learning all about the Olympics and Paralympics, both modern and ancient, and learning about the different countries that have hosted the games over the years. We are all looking forward to our PE sessions, where we will learn the rules of different Olympic sports, and create our own sport, with its own set of rules!

We were able to meet a Paralympian, called Ellie Simpson, who received medals for her sport, Frame Running. This was very exciting, and we enjoyed creating questions to ask her about her life!

We will also learn about other Olympians and Paralympians and decide who deserves to win a β€œSporting Hero” award. In English, we will write a persuasive piece about why we think they should win, using clicker to help us.

In Music, Drama and Art, we will be watching clips from different Olympic opening ceremonies and will create music and dance for our own ceremony. We will design and create our own gold medals.

In Maths, there will be a continued focus on our basic skills, which will help us throughout our lives, particularly number recognition, addition and subtraction. We will also learn about time.

In addition to this, daily task series programmes will continue, and we have a lot of exciting events coming up, including Growing Up Days, Sports Day and our end of year Music Festival.

Everyone in Edinburgh Class is ready and excited for this new term.
