To the Moon and Back! 🌚

We used different materials to create a collage of the moon.

Rocking Around the Christmas Tree!🎄

It’s finally December! We had a lot of fun choosing our own baubles and decorating the christmas tree, whilst listening to Christmas music!

Pudsey Came to Visit!!!

It’s Children in Need this week and we were all very excited to meet Pudsey Bear.

Lest We Forget 🏵

We made poppy wreaths for Remembrance Day, then we laid them in the area outside school to make a mini Remembrance Garden.

Bonfire Night! 🎉

We had lots of fun making fireworks for Bonfire Night!

Welcome back to another year, and another change! Fatima, Jemma, Lisa and Arantxa have all joined Edinburgh Class and are really excited to get to know everyone!

Our topic this term is ‘Stargazers’ and we’re all looking forward to learning about the different planets in Space! We will write our own mnemonics to remember the order of the planets…

“My Very Excited Mother Just Served Us Nachos!”

Also in English lessons, we will read an exciting book about a little boy’s adventures through space called ‘Space Ace’, and use this to help us write our own newspaper reports about visiting space!

We will design our own aliens and, after reading a fun extract of an alien description from ‘Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator’, will describe our own aliens!

We are looking forward to being creative, making moonscapes with different fabrics and stitching. We will also create paintings of the phases of the moon… and use Oreos to show the same thing, by eating different amounts of cream, which sounds like lots of fun!

In Maths, there will be a lot of focus on our basic skills, which will help us throughout our lives, particularly number recognition, addition and subtraction. We will also look at 2D and 3D shapes.

In addition to this, daily task series programmes will continue, and we are looking forward to working alongside some of the children from other classes this year.

Everyone in Edinburgh Class is ready and excited for this new term and new school year.

Please do get in touch with us, if you have any questions!
