Happy 18th!!

Today we have celebrated one of our students 18th birthday. We have had lots of cake and sang Happy birthday. We have had some games in the afternoon and had a slideshow of old photos which really made her blush 😄

Hesley Wood

Wentworth class had a brilliant day out at Hesley wood. They planned and prepared as a team how to cook spaghetti Bolognese and chocolate brownie. They worked really hard and they enjoyed the end result.

Wentworth learning about Islam

In R.E Wentworth have enjoyed learning about Islamic religions and cultures. They enjoyed trying traditional foods and wearing henna tattoos.

Masquerade Ball

Wentworth class have enjoyed getting creative in art. They have began to plan and create a mood board using different materials and colours to help produce their final piece of a masquerade mask.

Romeo and Juliet

Wentworth have been enjoying our English lessons. We have been doing Romeo and Juliet and they have enjoyed re-enacting some of the scenes.

We hope this newsletter finds you well as we dive into the exciting and eventful spring term in the Wentworth This term, our students will explore various fascinating subjects, engage in enriching activities, and develop their skills across various disciplines. Here’s a snapshot of what your children will be focusing on in their lessons:

English – Romeo and Juliet:

In our English lessons, we will be delving into the timeless tale of “Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare. Students will explore this renowned play’s themes, characters, and intricate language. They will gain a deeper understanding of Shakespeare’s literary genius through discussions, creative writing exercises, and interactive activities.

Maths – Addition and Subtraction:

In mathematics, our focus for this term will be on strengthening our addition and subtraction skills. Students will tackle challenging problem-solving tasks, practice mental calculations, and work on real-life scenarios that require precise mathematical thinking. Building a solid foundation in these fundamental operations will prepare them for more complex mathematical concepts.

ICT – PowerPoint:

In our ICT lessons, students will be honing their digital skills by learning how to create captivating presentations using PowerPoint. They will acquire knowledge of slide design, effective use of visuals, and the art of delivering engaging presentations. This valuable skill will equip them with the ability to communicate their ideas effectively in a visually appealing manner.

PE – Netball:

This term, our focus in PE will be on the popular sport of netball. Students will develop their skills in passing, shooting, and teamwork through fun drills and friendly matches. Netball fosters agility, coordination, and sportsmanship, allowing our students to stay active while building important social bonds within their class.

History – Shakespeare:

In history, we will be immersing ourselves in the life and times of one of the greatest playwrights in history, William Shakespeare. Students will explore Shakespeare’s works, the Elizabethan era, and the impact of his plays on society. They will have the opportunity to research, analyse primary sources, and present their findings to the class.

Art – Sculptures:

This term, our artistic endeavours will involve exploring the world of sculptures. Students will learn about various sculpting techniques, materials, and famous sculptors. They will have the opportunity to express their creativity by creating their unique sculptures, allowing their imagination to take shape in three-dimensional form.

We are thrilled to embark on this exciting journey with our students and look forward to witnessing their growth and accomplishments throughout the spring term.
