This term, we will be focusing on climate change, exploring its impact across a range of subjects and activities.

Curriculum Overview

English
This term, we will be working on finishing the WJEC unit ‘Creating Narratives’, where students will develop their storytelling skills. Lessons will incorporate the use of Clicker software to support writing tasks, with a particular focus on creating stories inspired by climate change themes.

Maths
Our focus will be on measurement and data handling, using climate-related data, such as temperature changes and rainfall patterns, to make learning relevant and engaging.

Science
We will explore the science of climate change, including topics such as greenhouse gases, renewable energy, and the effects of global warming. Students will engage in experiments to understand these concepts in a hands-on way.

PSHE (Personal, Social, and Health Education)
Students will discuss environmental responsibility, exploring how individual and collective actions can contribute to combating climate change.

Geography
This term’s focus is on weather patterns and the global impact of climate change, including case studies of affected regions around the world.

Art
Our creative sessions will involve producing artwork inspired by environmental themes, using a variety of media to express the impact of climate change.

Physical Education
In PE, students will develop key skills through engaging in wheelchair-friendly sports and activities. These will include team games and activities designed to improve coordination, strength, and collaboration.
