We are delighted to welcome pupils and families to a new term in Wentworth. This half term combines English, maths, communication, physical task series and Life Beyond PACES. Pupils will build useful skills through practical activities, discussion and real-life experiences.
Hesley Wood Visit 23rd September: Pupils will develop teamwork, communication, confidence, independence and the ability to follow instructions. Further practical details will be shared with families separately.
English & communication We will use age-appropriate texts, photographs, visual sequences and real experiences. Pupils will find important information, explain ideas, order events and communicate clearly through speech and writing.
Maths Lessons will build practical number skills, including place value, comparing and ordering numbers, estimating and solving useful everyday problems with equipment, images and repeated practice.
Life Beyond PACES Pupils will explore strengths, interests and aspirations. They will practise making choices, following routines, using checklists, asking for help and developing everyday and work-related confidence.
Choosing options Pupils will explore a range of options and begin choosing activities that reflect their interests, strengths and future goals.
Pupils who are new to the class will begin working towards suitable WJEC qualifications. Skills will develop gradually through meaningful activities, with appropriate work saved as evidence over time. Any questions about the WJEC qualifications, please contact our WJEC co-ordinator.
