A visit to Manor Lodge 🏰

Yesterday our pupils had the fantastic opportunity to step into history by visiting Manor Lodge. The exact place where Mary Queen of Scott’s was held captive for 14 years. They explored the grounds full of beautiful wildflowers, went inside the building she was kept in, had a guided tour by the lovely staff and learnt a lot of interesting facts about Mary’s life. Later they were given the opportunity to dress up like Tudors and make some herb bags and fill them with Lavender, clove, rosemary and sage, which were used during the Tudor period to keep the bad smells away. The gorgeous sunny weather made the day even more special. 🌞🌷
