Chatsworth

We have loved having Rosie back in school this term to deliver our Music sessions. We made her a card to say ‘Thank You’ for providing us with such a fun learning experience.

We spent two days off-timetable learning all about growing up, as part of our PSHE and RSE curriculum. We enjoyed a sensory hygiene session, practised dressing and bathing using dolls, explored body parts with playdough, and crafted some beautiful friendship-themed art work!

What an amazing Sports Day we’ve had! We have enjoyed parachute games, Boccia, water relay and lots more. And to top it off…Chatsworth were crowned this year’s winners for fantastic engagement!

We’ve had the best day dancing our socks off at our Dance-athon to raise money for Paces. Happy half term!

In History, we experienced life as Queen for a day! We liked dressing up and looking at our royal clothing in the mirrors. Our favourite part was definitely ringing the bell for the servants!

We had a gorgeous morning out in the sunshine for our Maths session, looking for the many patterns that exist all around us. We found patterns on leaves, cars and brickwork!

In our English session, we experienced a new sensory story called ‘Sir Pranceabout and the Dragon’. We had lots of fun exploring some new props and hearing all about what happens to Sir Pranceabout when he meets a fierce dragon!

We’ve been all around the world today! We have visited France, Mexico and India, before returning to Jamaica. There were many interesting activities to explore (and lots of yummy food too!).

What a fantastic week we’ve had so far! Chatsworth’s focus country this year is Jamaica. We have tasted different foods, listened to reggae music, explored the sensory story ‘Jehvon Goes to Jamaica’, enjoyed a Jamaica-themed Music and Touch session, and even made banana pancakes!

We’ve had a great afternoon in our sensory room exploring the lights, singing songs and blowing bubbles!
