We stepped back in time to experience life in a Victorian school. We wrote on slates, listened to the very noisy school bell and sang Oranges and Lemons (when we were allowed our 5 minutes of playtime!). We quickly discovered that Victorian classrooms were super strict!
To celebrate Children in Need, we challenged ourselves to decorate 25 buns for 2025! We completed the challenge within 11 minutes and 49 seconds! We love how they turned out!
This week we learnt about bonfire night and watched videos of very pretty fireworks! After having so much fun watching fireworks, we decided to paint our own! We have loved seeing all the different colours!
We explored the inside of pumpkins and used our mark making skills to make them super scary! We loved the different smells and textures! Happy Halloween!
We have a brand-new reading area in Chatsworth! With lots of new books, comfy seating and a tuff tray linked to our phonics work, we think we’ll like it here!
We have been exploring exciting things to learn about the Victorian Seaside. We have looked at different activities that people would do on the promenade, we tasted different food and drinks and we have loved everything we have tried!
We worked together to bake some sweet treats to enjoy at our tea party. The Mad Hatter came to visit to pour us some tea! We are having a wonderful time exploring all aspects of Alice in Wonderland for our topic of Victorian Detectives.
We had an RE Day learning all about the Jewish celebration of Yom Kippur! We read a sensory story where we looked at traditional clothing and other props. In the afternoon, we explored the concept of ‘letting go’, and enjoyed tasting/smelling foods to represent sweet beginnings. We love learning about all religions and their celebrations!
Our PSHE focus this term is all about teamwork. We have enjoyed playing parachute games, working together as a team to fling the ball away! We have also been practising our turn-taking skills.
We have loved being able to see how people dressed in the Victorian times, trying on the outfits to see which we like best! We also looked at school in Victorian times to see how different it was!
