Children used a thesaurus to develop our writing skills, describing characters. Children used the thesaurus and came up with some amazing words to describe, describing the characters personalities personalities, traits and look.
Balmoral created solar system using fruit. They explored the size of each planet, using fruit they identified the smallest and largest planets, putting them into the correct order using the mnemonic they have learnt.
The Balmoral class have begun learning the phases of the moon. We have learnt the names of the phases and used oreo biscuits to match what you can see of each moon in each phase. Children enjoyed creating these and then eating some of their moons, amazing work!
We have jumped straight into our new topic at the start of a new school year. As always working hard. We made our own bouncy balls. Whose will bounce the highest?
This week, we looked at halving objects using different food items. We learnt that half means two equal pieces.

Windsor class enthusiastically engaged with our new topic by exploring what sound is using different instruments. We learned about vibrations and how more force made more movement and a higher volume of sound. There was some fantastic scientific thinking!
