Balmoral

We have learnt about the race to the moon. We have enjoyed finding out about the animals that went to space, having an interesting discussion about was it fair.

Balmoral have been learning how to add or subtract with bigger numbers, they have all worked incredibly hard.

We had an amazing trip to Newton Chambers Hall where we had a space dome experience. We explored space, the planets, the moon and also listened to some music watching the amazing lights in the dome. We had the opportunity to share this experience with other friends from Paces and we loved the whole day.

We have learnt about how the moon reflects light and does not create its own. We made our own moons and using torches we saw how they reflected the light, looking how bright they were when we turned off the lights.

Balmoral class have been looking at Isaac Newton and his discoveries. We have learnt about gravity and now looking at his Laws of motion. We have discussed that an object will stay still unless a force is applied, further exploring accelerated force.

Balmoral explored how force is applied in relation to the weight of the person.

Children have explored how craters are created on the moons surface. We explored how asteroids and comets hit the moon and create these craters. The craters stay on the moon due to the atmosphere,you can see the smiley face crater and footprints that are still there.

The Balmoral class have had a great day at our Halloween party. Amazing but scary costumes to trick or treating, fun and games and potion making.
